Andrea K. Busby

Clinical Psychologist

Andrea K. Busby, Ph.D., obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University. She completed internship training at Rush University Medical Center and fellowship training at the VA Boston Healthcare System/Harvard Medical School/Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Busby specializes in health psychology, a subfield of clinical psychology that recognizes the link between physical and emotional health. Prior to joining Michigan Avenue Neuropsychologists, Dr. Busby was on faculty at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the University of Chicago, where her clinical work, teaching and research focused on health behavior change and coping with chronic illness. Dr. Busby is licensed in Illinois.

Dr. Busby provides outpatient treatment for adults (18 and over) with the following conditions: depression, anxiety, insomnia and binge-eating behavior. Dr. Busby also works with patients on making health behavior changes to improve management of chronic health conditions, such as obesity, diabetes and chronic pain, and assists patients with adjusting to and coping with such conditions. Dr. Busby believes strongly in evidence-based medicine and thus relies on a variety of empirically supported treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing.
